Your General Aviation Hub

Built in 1941

From professional flight training and excellent pilot services to a welcoming space for aviation enthusiasts, Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport is for everyone.

About Us

Originally built for the Royal Air Force in 1941, Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport has evolved into a thriving general aviation hub for both pilots and visitors. Today, we handle over 50,000 aircraft movements every year, making us one of the busiest general aviation airports in the country.

We’re home to six fixed-wing flying schools, one rotary flying school, and a commercial rotary operation, offering everything from professional flight training to experience flights. With hard and grass runways and 105 private aircraft based here, our aerodrome is the perfect base for flying enthusiasts and operators alike.

But we’re not just for pilots. Visitors can relax at Amelia’s Bar & Restaurant, enjoy delicious food with panoramic runway views, and watch aircraft in action. Whether you’re learning to fly, planning a private journey, or simply looking for a great day out, Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport is a destination for everyone who loves aviation.
