With both hard and grass runways, Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green aerodrome is ideal for learning to fly and hosts four fixed wing training schools, one helicopter school, one microlight school and autogyro centre. Each of these offer trial flying lessons so you can get a feel of what learning to fly is all about.

Originally built as an aerodrome for the Royal Air Force and opening in 1941, the airport now provides a thriving base for a number of general aviation operators and maintenance providers including: aircraft and helicopter flying schools, private aircraft operators, commercial operators, aviation and non-aviation related businesses. Ideally positioned in the centre of the UK, the airport is only seven miles to the south west of Wolverhampton and 20 miles from Birmingham.
